Real Madrid Star Kylian Mbappe Faces Rape Allegations, Denies Claims

Kylian Mbappe, the French and Real Madrid forward, has been left “flabbergasted” by reported rape and sexual harassment claims made against him. Mbappe’s lawyer, Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, expressed her client’s shock and denial of the allegations, stating that Mbappe is “particularly serene, but he’s flabbergasted by all the media hype”.

The allegations surfaced after Mbappe visited Sweden with friends from Wednesday to Friday last week. A Swedish newspaper, Aftonbladet, reported an investigation had been opened for rape following a visit by Mbappe’s entourage to Stockholm. However, Mbappe swiftly denied the claims, labeling them as “fake news” on social media platform X .

Mbappe’s lawyer emphasized that her client has no idea what he’s being accused of and that he will submit to Swedish justice if an investigation is launched. “Mbappe is never alone, so he would be exposed to a situation where he would be taking a risk. That totally rules out any wrongdoing. It’s an absolute certainty,” Canu-Bernard added ¹.

The controversy has sparked a reaction from Real Madrid, with French journalist Romain Molina reporting that the club held a crisis meeting on Monday evening to address the allegations.

Mbappe’s entourage has released a statement condemning the accusations as “completely false and irresponsible” and vowed to take legal action to clear his name ¹. The incident has cast a shadow over Mbappe’s ongoing dispute with his former club PSG over £46 million in unpaid wages and bonuses .
