Some 80 million infants could be at risk of vaccine-preventable diseases such as diphtheria, measles and polio due to disruption of routine immunisation caused by the pandemic, UN agencies warn.
Although coronavirus is reported to have feeble effects on children, the attendant fear of possible spread or exposure to the deadly virus has hindered the conventional immunization exercise worldwide.
