Donald Duke Dumps Party and Returns to PDP

Former Presidential candidate and two-term Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke has dumped the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This development was disclosed on Wednesday by the PDP Chairman of the Caretaker Committee in Cross River State, Effiok Cobham, during a press briefing in Calabar.

Donald Duke, who is a two-term Governor of Cross River State between 1999 and 2007, defected from PDP to the Social Democratic Party, where he contested for the 2019 presidential election.

When asked on Wednesday about the authenticity of the speculations been peddled around about that the former Governor returning to PDP, Mr Cobham said, “Yes, he has registered.”

Recall that this is only coming a few days after the current serving Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
