A Father of Five Attempting to Commit Suicide in Ogun River Rescued

A 36-year-old man identified as Fatai Oyedele, was rescued while attempting to commit suicide at the popular Ogun River in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital On Wednesday, June 24th.

 

According to eyewitnesses, the man got to the river at about 1pm today and attempted to plunge into it. However, He was rescued by men of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps.

 

Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson of Ogun TRACE Corps, confirmed the incident and stated that Oyedele is a married man with five children, and frustration made him to consider suicide.

 

He was taken to the police station in Adigbe afterwards.
