AGN Suspends Halima Abubakar Indefinitely Over Alleged Slanderous Posts About Fellow Actors
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced the indefinite suspension of Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar. The suspension comes amid allegations that she is behind slanderous reports targeting fellow actors, which have been posted online.
In a statement, the AGN explained that the decision was made after investigations linked Abubakar to defamatory content about other actors circulating on social media. The guild stated that such behavior goes against the code of conduct expected from members and that her suspension will remain in place pending further review.
The AGN emphasized its commitment to upholding professionalism within the Nigerian entertainment industry and warned that any behavior damaging to the reputation of its members would not be tolerated.
Abubakar’s response to the suspension has not yet been made public.
