Top Nigerian celebrities including Davido on Sunday, May 24th, pledge support for the revival of erstwhile “queen of dancehall’ Cynthia Morgan’s music career which crashed over the last few years as a result of her fall out with record label Northside Inc.
In a recent Instagram live video, Cynthia Morgan joined Ex Miss Globe Nigeria, Sandra Ogbebor, revealing why she disappeared from the music scene despite her fame.
According to Morgan, in 2017, her contract with record label, Northside Inc. owned by Jude Okoye was not renewed because she was not happy with the label and decided to take her leave at the expiration of the previous contract.
Cynthia also revealed that she lost the right to use her name for any other business venture or music and does not own rights to the music she produced while still under Northside Inc, loosing virtually everything.
She disclosed battling depression over the past few years and also fell ill during the process.
In reaction to this, some good willing Nigerians created a GoFundMe account to support her resurface in the music scene as she said she would love to return as a solo act, and not under a record label, citing her past experience.
Davido promised to feature her in a new song.
