U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has appointed his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, as his Chief of Staff, making her the first woman to hold this key position. This historic appointment kicks off a series of expected staffing decisions as Trump prepares for his return to the White House on January 20.
Calling Wiles his “winning campaign manager,” Trump praised her in an official statement, saying, “It is a well-deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history.” He further described her as “tough, smart, innovative, and universally admired and respected,” in an announcement shared on social media.
As Chief of Staff, Wiles will play a central role in managing White House staff, coordinating the president’s schedule, and facilitating communication between the White House, government departments, and Congress. Reflecting on her impact, Trump noted, “She just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history.”
Vice President-elect JD Vance also praised Wiles’ appointment, posting on social media, “This is great news. Susie was a huge asset to President Trump on the campaign and will be a huge asset in the White House.”
During his previous term, Trump had four Chiefs of Staff, including retired Army General John Kelly, who later became a critic of the president, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris during her campaign.
