FG, IGP, NTA, NBC, Others, Dragged to Court over #EndSARS

Human right lawyer, Joe Nwokedi has filed a 50 billion naira law suit at the federal high court, Ikoyi, Lagos State against the Federal Government of Nigeria, Inspector General of Police, Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC) over their roles in the end SARS protest.

 

Also in the suit are the minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Attorney General of the Federation, Nigeria Armed Forces, Chief of army staff, Governor of central bank, Lagos State Government, Attorney General of Lagos State, Imo State Government,Attorney General of Imo State, Rivers State Government, Attorney General of Rivers State, National Assembly.

 

The suit which is seeking an order of perpetual injunction, restraining the respondents either by themselves, their agents, privies, servants, representative from further harassing, banning, threatening, molesting, or infringing on the rights of Nigerians to a peaceful protest is also asking the court to award the sum as exemplary, aggravated and general damages against respondents and judicial pronouncement over the activities of the state actors and their agencies.
