“Just one year of NYSC I spent in the North, I can tell you that rape is very common there, but then the victims are prevented from speaking up mostly by their parents with the excuse of “stigmatization” thanks to Dr Zainab”.

“For the family of Mal Sadau, life will certainly never remain the same again. And every Wednesday will always sing a sad memory of their devastated heart for years to come.”

“It’s that same day a neighbor had sneaked into their home while the parents were away to work. Which caused them the unending pain and sorrow they now live with.”

“Their daughter was raped by their neighbor and when she tried to explain all that happened and how terrible she’s feeling, her mother told her to keep quiet and not say anything about it”.

“The dad who is a well known and respected person in the neighborhood also shut his daughter up. He was concerned about his status in the community and he feels it will bring shame and stigma to his family. Hence, he threatened his daughter never to talk about it.”

“No one is concerned about how she’s feeling, the pain she will have to live with for the rest of her life, while the rapist roams the street freely like a champion without the law taking it full course, smiling mischievously knowing fully well that nothing will happen to him.”

“Their daughter was beaten so hard yet she was refused the right to cry by family and friends because they don’t want “Stigmatization”

“To be raped is like a raging forest inferno, it has no respect for Age, sex or Race. It starts from the body then feeds on your soul.”

“You have the right to speak up, else you will continue to live in pains for the rest of your life.”

“Dr Zainab has launched a campaign to help you speak up if you’ve been raped.

The pain of silence is greater than the pain stigma might cause you.”
