Following the abduction of unspecific number of students of the Government Science Secondary school (GSSS) Kankara, Katsina state, by bandit on Friday night, the governor of the state has order an immediate closure of all boarding schools in the state.
Governor Masari gave the order when he visited the school on Saturday for an on-the – spot assesment of situation.
The governor who was accompanied by his deputy, Alhaji Mannie Yakubu and other top government officials during his visit, met with some parents, school officials, traditional and religious leaders as well as security officers pleaded with the residents to be patient and understanding, assuring them that the government would do every necessary thing to ensure the release of any abducted student.
Further revealing that the military, the police as well as the department of state security (DSS) had swung into action and were on the trail of the bandits.
