Hollywood Mourns as Wildfires Claim Life of Iconic Actress Dalyce Curry
Renowned retired actress Dalyce Curry, celebrated for her performances in classics like The Blues Brothers, The Ten Commandments, and Lady Sings the Blues, has tragically lost her life in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, according to Forbes. She was 95 years old.
Authorities confirmed that Curry’s remains were found at her residence in Altadena, California, which was destroyed by the fires. Her great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, revealed that Curry was last seen on January 7, after dropping her off at home that evening.
Failed Rescue Efforts
The following morning, Kelley attempted to check on Curry but was blocked by police barricades near the affected area. Family members searched for her at the Pasadena Civic Center, a shelter for displaced residents, but were unable to locate her.
Days later, officials confirmed that Curry’s remains had been discovered amidst the ruins of her property.
“About an hour ago, the coroner confirmed her remains were indeed found at the property. #RIPMOMMADEE,” Kelley shared on Facebook on January 12. “We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating.”
Fond Memories of Curry
“She was very active,” said her granddaughter Loree Beamer-Wilkinson. “You wouldn’t think she was 95.”
A Tragic Statistic
Curry’s passing is among at least 24 fatalities reported in the Los Angeles area due to the wildfires. Her legacy, both on-screen and off, will be deeply missed by fans and loved ones alike.
