A massive explosion ripped through the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday evening, injuring many people and blowing out windows in buildings across the city. The blast appears to have been centered on the city’s port area.
According to authorities, Large numbers of people were wounded in the blast. However, Officials have not released any specific numbers about how many people were injured.
According to witnesses, Homes as far as 10 kilometers away, or a little more than six miles, were damaged.
“It is like an apocalypse,” eyewitness says of Beirut explosion aftermath.
A Lebanese official says the massive blast that shook Beirut’s port area was caused by confiscated “high explosive materials.”
