Nigerian Man Defends Internet Fraud, Alleges Celebrities Are No Different
A Nigerian man has sparked controversy online after vowing to continue engaging in internet fraud, popularly known as “yahoo,” citing alleged scams linked to notable Nigerian celebrities like Davido, VeryDarkMan, and others as justification for his actions.
The man, in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), accused some celebrities of defrauding the public through various schemes, arguing that their alleged actions are no different from his. He also disclosed losing $200 to a crypto scheme allegedly tied to Davido and over ₦100,000 to Racksterli, a collapsed investment platform.
His post read:
“Davido did crypto scam, VeryDarkMan used donation scams, Papaya Ex used forex to scam people, Ashmusy used PR to scam people, Danny did crypto scam, Hilda Baci used food training scams, and many other celebs did different scams. But it’s me you want to stop from yahoo? 😂😂😂”
In a follow-up comment, he added:
“I be 30BG, but I lost $200 to that Davido rug and over ₦100k to Racksterli.”
The controversial remarks have drawn a mix of outrage and concern from social media users, with many flooding the comment section to debate the ethics of his claims and highlight the broader societal implications of internet fraud.
This incident has reignited conversations about accountability, both among public figures accused of fraudulent activities and individuals engaging in illegal practices like yahoo.
