Obaseki Meets Another Hard Rock As Courts Order Rules Out His Participation In Upcoming PDP Primaries

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki faces another impediment in his chase for a second tenure in the office after decamping from the APC to join the PDP.

Justice E.A Obile of the Federal High Court in PortHacourt has given a restraining order prohibiting the Governor from taking part in Primary election come June 25.

The defendants of the case are, Prince Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Kingsley Chinda, the Chairman of the Party screening committee and other members of the committee and the interim governor. The case has been adjourned till June 24.

The move was sponsored by the Party’s contestant, Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, a member of the House of Representatives, who prior to this time was the choice candidate of the PDP.
