Pastor Adeboye: Oil Cabals Prevents Dangote Refinery’s Success

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has voiced concerns that oil cabals in Nigeria, in collaboration with international oil companies, are actively working to hinder the success of private refineries like the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

Addressing his congregation during the November 2024 Abuja Special Holy Ghost Service, Adeboye urged Nigerians to pray for divine intervention against the activities of powerful oil marketers. According to him, these marketers are intent on creating hardship for the public by blocking the full operation of the Dangote Refinery—a situation he says mirrors past sabotage attempts on Nigeria’s four state-owned refineries.

Adeboye explained that he believes God inspired Aliko Dangote to establish a private refinery after repeated government efforts to revive the country’s state-owned refineries failed, despite the investment of billions of Naira.

“Are we under a curse?” he questioned. “We have four refineries, we poured all kinds of money into them, none of them is working.” Adeboye then praised Dangote’s vision: “God raised someone to build a refinery that works… He is not even a Christian, but he is a Nigerian who says, ‘Why should my people suffer?’”

Adeboye highlighted the irony of Nigeria, a major crude oil producer, continuing to rely on fuel imports. He expressed frustration with the forces trying to prevent Dangote from selling his refinery’s products, stating, “Now he is refining petrol, and some people want to stop him from selling it, so they can keep importing.”
