Plans To Reopen Worship Centres Suspended In Lagos.
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday announced the suspension of the earlier scheduled opening of churches and mosques in the state.
Earlier this month, The Nigeria’s commercial hub said it would allow the reopening of places of worship, which the government ordered to close in March to halt the spread of the highly infectious virus. It said each state would decide the terms.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sango-Olu said “We will not be proceeding with the opening of the places of worship, “Due to the continuous increase of COVID-19 cases in our state, we have rescinded till further notice our earlier decision to open churches and mosques for worship,” he said in a tweet.
Lagosians are hoping this pandemic can be contained and everyone gets back to living the normal Lagos life.
