Police Arrest Man For Confining His Son For 7-Years Against His Will
The Police Command in Kano, says it has arrested a father, Aminu Farawa, for allegedly confining his 30-year-old son, Ahmed Aminu, against his will for seven years without proper feeding and medication.
DSP Mr Abdullahi Haruna, The Spokesman of the Command, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday in Kano.
Haruna revealed that the suspect was arrested on Aug.13, at his home in Farawa Quarters, in a raid conducted by men of Operation PUFF ADDER.
Haruna said the rescued victim was taken to the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano for treatment.
He also noted that preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect imprisoned the victim on alleged drug abuse.
The spokesman added that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Habu Ahmad, has ordered transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) for discreet investigations.
