Real Madrid And Juventus Knocked Out Of The Champions League As Man City And Lyon Cruise Further
Real Madrid and Juventus have been knocked out of the Champions league as they fail to qualify to the Quarter Finals.
Real Madrid saw themselves trailing behind a one-goal lead when Raphael Varane committed a defensive blunder in the 18-yard box, as Raheem Sterling slotted in his 100th goal for Manchester City.
In the 28th minute, Real Madrid got a consolation goal through Karim Benzema but they failed to add to the tally as another Raphael Varane blunder gifted Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus to send the cityzens into the last 8 of the European Competition.
Elsewhere in Turin, Lyon saw off the old lady’s as they held on to a 2-1 defeat with an away goal advantage to see them advance into the last 8.
Memphis Depay opened the scoring for Lyon with a cheeky penalty in the 12th minute, as he sent his team into the quarterfinals with style.
Juventus came from behind to score two goals, thanks to the amazing Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo scored a penalty in the 43rd minute after Memphis Depay handled the ball in his 18-yard box.
Ronaldo also added to his tally with a bazooka in the 60th minute. But his two goal were not enough to help Juventus advance further.
