TottVsManU: Roy Keane Blast United Players As Jose Mourinho Was Left Furious
The premier league match between Spurs and The Red Devil’s ended in a 1-1 draw last night.
A woeful error from United goalkeeper, De Gea saw Bergwijn give Spurs the lead in what looked like it would end the United’s unbeaten run on their preacher league return.
At half-time , former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane criticised De Gea and Maguire as he was disappointed with their level of performance which led to Spurs goal.
Bergwijn easily beat England international Maguire for pace, and De Gea could not hold his powerful shot as Jose Mourinho’s side took a half-time lead over his former club in Friday’s Premier League match.
Roy Keane said at the interval, “I’m shocked. I’m shocked at the goal”.
“I’m staggered at Maguire, how an international player can just get done like that and I’m sick to death of this goalkeeper”
“I would be fining him De Gea at half-time, there is no getting away from that. I would be swinging punches at that guy. That is a standard save for an established international goalkeeper”.
“I am flabbergasted. Maguire and De Gea… I wouldn’t even let them on the bus after the match. Get a taxi back to Manchester. Do your job. We’re trying to get into the top four – never mind win trophies, shocking. I am disgusted. They should hang their heads in shame.”
The match saw Pogba stepped off the bench in the 63rd minute to help hinder Spurs from claiming all 3 points.
United were awarded a penalty kick after Eric Dier fouled Pogba inside the 18-yard box. This left Jose Mourinho furious at the decision of VAR for costing Spurs their 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
In the 90th minute, Referee Jonathan Moss pointed to the spot again, only this time VAR reversed the decision, leaving Mourinho frustrated with both moments.
“I’m not happy with the penalty or the second penalty,” Mourinho told Sky Sports. “I’m unhappy with the VAR, not the referee. In the game, he can make a mistake, give a cheap penalty. The VAR is there to do the job, I’m not unhappy with Moss, I’m unhappy with the VAR”, Mourinho said.
The match saw United in the 5th position trailing 2 points behind the Champions League qualification and Spurs in the 8th position with 42 points so far.
