Italian Serie A club Udinese has confirmed that Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has successfully undergone surgery following a wrist injury sustained during a league match against Genoa last week.
The procedure was carried out by Dr. Loris Pegoli at the La Madonnina clinic in Milan, with the club announcing that the surgery went smoothly.
Okoye, 24, is now set to begin his rehabilitation process, which will keep him sidelined for several weeks.
The Super Eagles star has been a vital player for Udinese, establishing himself as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper in the latter half of last season. He has already made 14 league appearances this season, solidifying his position as a key figure in the squad.
Fans and teammates alike have sent their well-wishes for his speedy recovery as Udinese prepares to adjust in his absence.
