Unknown gunmen on Wednesday June 10 killed two gentlemen and went away with many others along Lokoja-Abuja expressway.
The report has it that one of the killed victim is one Nicholas Ofodile, the owner of the famous Chuks Supermarket in Lokoja, while the second victim is a commercial taxi driver whose name is yet to be identified, both victims were said to be heading towards Abuja when the incident took place.
Commander Emmanuel Abe of the Federal Road Safety Corps mentioned that his men were present to assists the victims. Mr Ofodile’s corpse was taken to the Mortuary in Lokoja while that of the driver was claimed by his relatives as he was a native of the area.
According to a report from an escaped eye witness who identified himself as Usman, who at the time was conveying passengers from Gegu in Kogi State to Abaji market. He said the incident occurred at about 5:48 am along a sharp bend. He said the gunmen who were over 30 opened fire on the two coming vehicles which killed the drivers and left three others with bullet injuries while the rest were taken away.
