In a statement shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the command disclosed that the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on the National Stadium Bridge heading inward Iponri. The victim was said to have been rushed to Mainland General Hospital in Yaba, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities noted that investigations are currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack. The police statement was issued in response to a social media user who had earlier shared details of how the incident reportedly unfolded.
