Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has completed a season-long loan move to Turkish giants Galatasaray from Napoli. The 25-year-old Nigerian international will spend the 2024/25 campaign with the Istanbul-based club after failing to secure a permanent transfer during the summer window.
Osimhen was left out of Antonio Conte’s Napoli squad after his proposed moves to Chelsea and Al-Ahli fell through before the transfer deadline. Instead, he has opted for a temporary switch to Galatasaray, where he will earn a net seasonal salary of €6 million.
Galatasaray announced Osimhen’s arrival in a statement on Wednesday, confirming that the loan deal does not include an option for a permanent transfer. However, the striker can leave the club in January if another team activates his reduced release clause of €75 million.
Osimhen will wear the No. 45 shirt for Galatasaray, who will be hoping the Nigerian’s goalscoring prowess can help the team achieve success in the upcoming season.
This move marks a new chapter in Osimhen’s career, and he will be looking to make the most of his time in Turkey before potentially returning to Napoli or exploring other options in the future.
