Benue University Deputy Vice Chancellor Dies From COVID-19

Prof. Godwin Achinge, the Vice Chairman of the Benue State Action Committee on COVID-19, and Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration of the Benue State University, BSU, Makurdi has reportedly died of COVID-19 complications

 

It was gathered that he died on Sunday afternoon at an undisclosed hospital in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

 

A member of the Action committee on COVID-19 who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed the death of Prof. Achinge to newsmen.

 

He said, “We lost our Vice Chairman, Prof. Achinge to the virus this afternoon in Jos, but we are still waiting for the family to be briefed on the development.”

 

However, Ngunan Addingi, the state Commissioner for Information, when contacted said she was yet to confirm the report from the chairman of the State Action Committee on COVID-19 and deputy governor of the state, Benson Abounu.
