Over the past few weeks, Nigeria has witnessed a continuous spike in Covid19 cases with daily infection figures running in multiples of hundreds. As at June 21, Nigeria surpassed the 20,000 mark of confirmed Covid19 cases as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) registered 436 new cases of COVID-19 and an additional 12 deaths linked to the virus.
This resulted to a total number of 20,244 infections in the country. 6,879 persons have been successfully treated and discharged, while 518 death cases have been recorded to the virus, according to the NCDC.
