Covid19: Kano State Extends Lockdown By One Week.

Kano State Government has announced the extension of its lockdown by one more week in an effort to cripple the wide spread of coronavirus in the state.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba on Tuesday, who spoke on behalf of his principal, the Executive Governor of Kano State Abdullahi Ganduje.

According to the state government, the decision was reached after due consultations with the Federal Government and key stakeholders in the health sector.

The State Ministry of Health as of Monday night, reported that there are 666 confirmed cases of covid19 in the state with a recent increase in the death toll numbering a total of 32 persons which makes Kano the second worst hit state with the deadly coronavirus in the country following Lagos State.
