In celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr festival, the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared May 25 and May 26 as public holidays.

Rauf Aregbesola, the Minister of Interior, made this known in a statement signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Mohammed Manga.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that this year’s sallah celebration will be observed in the comfort of his home with close family members.

Travis news earlier reported that the Sultan of Sokoto has instructed all Muslims to pray at home on sallah day following the ban on religious gatherings as a result of the growing pandemic in the country.
