Lagos Pastor Bolaji Idowu Addresses N1.5 Billion Fraud Allegations Following Police Interrogation
Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center (HICC), has responded to allegations connecting him to a N1.5 billion real estate fraud case. The cleric’s statement comes after his invitation and questioning by the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. The allegations reportedly involve one of his pastors accused of duping several individuals through a fraudulent real estate scheme.
According to reports, substantial sums of money from the scheme were allegedly traced to the church’s account and subsequently to Pastor Bolaji’s personal account. However, he was released after the questioning.
Addressing his congregation, Pastor Bolaji denied the claims, stating:
“In the last 24 hours, there has been a lot of news about me on social media about this and about that. I just want to clarify some things. I heard I was involved in real estate. First, I do not own any property in Nigeria except the one bequeathed to me by my late parents. I do not buy or sell properties.”
He further denied receiving billions of naira into his personal or church accounts, inviting authorities to verify his financial records. “My accounts are public accounts. You can check if I have ever received such funds,” he added.
The case has drawn significant public attention, with many calling for further investigations to clarify the pastor’s involvement.
