Minimum Wage in Saudi Arabia is N450,000; It Won’t Be Bad If We Adjusted Accordingly – Daddy Freeze Advises Buhari

President Buhari during his speech presentation yesterday, Thursday, October 1 which was Nigeria 60th Independence celebration, announced adjustment of petroleum prices in Nigeria.

According to him, petrol would now sell now at N161 per litre. Buhari also gave a comparison with other neighbouring countries to illustrate his point.

He said,

“Chad which is an oil producing country charges N362 per litre. Niger, also an oil producing country sells 1 litre at N346. In Ghana, another oil producing country, petroleum pump price is N326 per litre. Further afield, Egypt charges N211 per litre. Saudi Arabia charges N168 per litre. It makes no sense for oil to be cheaper in Nigeria than in Saudi Arabia”

This comparison was not taken in by most citizens and Daddy Freeze is one of them.

In response, Daddy Freeze reminded President Buhari of the said country’s minimum wage which is $800 dollar (N450,000) and advised him to also adjust that and not just fuel prize

He wrote, “You are absolutely right sir, it makes no sense for Nigeria to charge less than Saudi Arabia for petrol.

However, minimum wage for the public sector in Saudi Arabia, as suggested by available information online is $800 dollars, circa N450,000 with the prevailing exchange rate. It won’t be a bad idea if we adjusted accordingly as well.”
