In the last 5 weeks about 471 people have been buried in Yobe State.
The State Commissioner for health confirmed this in an interview with newsmen while insisting that the mysterious deaths are not Covid19 related.
He stated that about 57% of the deceased had underlined chronic illness and more than that rate were 50 years and above. 58.5% of them are male and 96% had no travel history outside the country. He also pointed that 90% of the people that died had no major Covid19 symptoms.
Similar situations of mysterious deaths have also been witnessed in Kano, Jigawa and Gombe States respectively with little or no trace to the deadly Coronavirus.
