About 26 new cases of Covid19 has been recorded in Imo state.
All new cases are linked among 96 travelers that were intercepted in a truck by security officials while coming into the state. As part of the safety measures against a spread of the deadly virus in the state, all 96 person were isolated and their samples taken for a test.
Out of the 96 samples about 26 persons came back positive according to the state officials and were immediately transported out of the state as it wasn’t their actual destination from the course of their journey.
The Imo State Government however, contacted the destination state to be on alert upon arrival of the positive cases so as to apply all necessary containment measures against the spread of Covid19.
