The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has issued a directive requiring airlines to patronize local caterers for the preparation of onboard meals.
This directive was communicated in a memo dated October 15, which was sent to all airlines operating within the country.
The move is seen as an effort to promote local businesses and boost the economy by supporting homegrown catering services for flights.
