The incumbent Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki has emerged the winner of the Gubernatorial primary elections of the People’s Democratic Party in Edo State.
After facing stiff oppositions from already existing PDP aspirants upon his defection from APC, Godwin Obaseki emerged a sole contender for the gubernatorial primaries after the withdrawal of all 3 other aspirants from contesting in the primary elections.
Obaseki pulled a total of 1,982 votes of the 2,034 delegates that participated in the primaries marking a total of 96.4% of the entire vote cast.
By this victory, Godwin Obaseki will be the flagbearer of the PDP in the forthcoming Edo State Governorship elections in September 2020.
