With barely one month to the forthcoming Gubernatorial elections in Edo State scheduled for September 19th 2020, the flag bearer for the ruling APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu was officially endorsed earlier today by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
The Chairman, National Campaign Council of the APC, Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State while speaking at the meeting with the President expressed optimism for APC’s victory in the forthcoming elections stating that the ruling party had already taken over the state legislature with a majority of 17 out of 24.
He described Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and candidate of the PDP in the September elections, as a liability to the PDP.
He said, “I can assure you that Governor Obaseki is a liability to the PDP. I can assure you that we are contesting against a governor who failed most woefully.”
