Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, expressed his support for Nigerian nurses and students pursuing opportunities abroad for better prospects.

During a recent visit to Peter University in Achina/Onneh, where he donated N50 million, and to the College of Nursing Sciences in Adazi-Nnukwu, with a further donation of N10 million, Obi encouraged nursing students to consider relocating if they find it challenging to thrive in Nigeria. Addressing the students, Obi stated, “I have always told the Nursing Council not to restrict graduates from traveling abroad. If it’s challenging here, go where it will work for you.”

Obi shared a personal story, mentioning his former PA, Michael-Jude, who moved to the UK with his wife, a nurse, and now has the support of the UK government for his studies. “If you want to seek greener pastures outside, please go. When we build a greater Nigeria, you will come back,” he added.
