President Muhammadu Buhari in a speech to mark the 2020 Democracy day said the second Niger bridge was 48% completed.
The bridge is said to be 1.6 km long and furnished with other ancillary infrastructure including a 10.3 km highway, Owerri interchange and a toll station. the construction was initiated by the former President, GoodLuck Jonathan and is now being executed by President Muhammadu Buhari. The bridge runs from Asaba to Ozubulu a large town of Anambra State and Ogbaru areas.
He also made mention of other road construction works across the country which are also in good progress, among which are the 376 km Abuja – Kaduna- Kano express way, the 42.9 km Obajana – Kabba express way, and 643 km SUKUK – Funded Road Project that has completed up to 412 km.
