Suspense as Oshiomhole, Oyegun are Appointed to Campaign For APC Candidate In Edo Guber
Two former APC National Chairmen, Adams Oshiomhole and John Odigie-Oyegun have been named as members of the party’s National Campaign Council for the Edo State Governorship Election in Sepetember.
This was announced on Thursday, in a statement by Yekini Nabena, APC deputy spokesman which stated the appointment of the 49 members into the National Campaign Council for the September 19 election by the Caretaker Committee led by Mai Mala Buni.
Oshiomhole and Oyegun had been at loggerheads as they have disagreed on a number of issues concerning the party and the APC primary election in Edo state. Recall that Oyegun blamed Oshiomhole’s leadership for the crisis in the party in Edo State.
Oyegun rooted for the incumbent, Mr Godwin Obaseki who later defected to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP while Oshiomhole insisted and worked for the emergence of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu who is now the party’s candidate.
The development led Oyegun to call for the dissolution of the National Working Committee NWC under the leadership of Oshiomhole.
Can these two peacefully work together without clashing and causing division between the new APC national Campaign Council for the Edo State Governorship Election? Time will tell.
