Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, a member of the House of Representatives, has assured Nigerians that the Tax Reform Bills proposed by President Bola Tinubu will gain approval from both chambers of the National Assembly.
Jibrin made this assertion during an appearance on TVC’s Politics Today on Sunday, November 24, a day after the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) urged federal lawmakers from the region to reject the bills.
Speaking on the program, Jibrin, who chairs the House of Representatives Committee on Housing and Habitat, emphasized that the tax reforms and other economic policies introduced by Tinubu are designed to benefit Nigerians.
“I have never had any doubt about the consideration and passage of the Tax Reform Bills. We will pass the tax reform bills,” Jibrin stated confidently.
The proposed bills, part of Tinubu’s broader economic strategy, have sparked debate, with critics raising concerns about their potential impact on citizens, while supporters argue they are necessary for long-term economic growth.
