Technology Shift: A New Chinese Restaurant Opens With Exclusive Robot Services
Food on, a new restaurant in Hong Kong has just opened with robots doing everything a human can do, from cooking to serving and even delivering.
George Mew, the owner of the initiative said that the approach makes good use of the kitchen space and provides better hygiene both of the environment and of the food being prepared.
In his words, he said, “instead of traditionally having one floor plan with the 2D design, you can have two, three, or four levels, so that the efficiency of the space can be fully Utilized. Secondly, the need for food safety: he said a lot of safety issues is almost inevitable with the human counterpart; such things as thirty shoes, falling hair, and dealing with ill workers”
Some customers have welcomed the initiative warmly and testified that their favourite meal tastes better with the robot chef and they don’t get to have a different taste of the meal as is commonly experienced with the human chefs, while some have said that meal of a robot chef is very easy to spot as it somewhat deviates from that of the human chef, but that the initiative was very welcomed and improvements are sure to come in the future.
The delivery robot of the restaurant is built with sensors that enables it to navigate through corridors, security doors and elevators as it runs delivery errands to nearby locations.
