Ubi Franklin Clears Air on Relationship with Davido

Music executive Ubi Franklin has addressed misconceptions about his role in Grammy-nominated artist Davido’s team, clarifying that he operates as a business administrator rather than a personal assistant or nanny.

Responding to a comment on X, Ubi dismissed the taunts and explained that his responsibilities within Davido’s camp are professional and aligned with his qualifications and experience.

“Let me state this clearly,” Ubi wrote. “Davido is Africa’s biggest artiste and the owner of DMW. I work with him because I am qualified and experienced for the role of a business administrator. He calls me #thesolutionist—do with that what you want.”

Ubi went on to criticize those attempting to diminish his role by labeling him a personal assistant or nanny, calling such remarks baseless. “If that makes you happy, so be it, but I am firmly on the business side, and that’s where I’ll always be.”

Ubi praised Davido’s global influence, describing the artist as more impactful than many state governors. “The only thing Davido doesn’t have is a government budget,” he added, emphasizing the power of Davido’s brand and operations.

The music executive also applauded Davido’s personal assistants and team members, highlighting their success and experiences. “These great guys live lives most of you only dream of—they wear the best designer brands, have investments in and out of Nigeria, and have traveled the world gaining experiences money can’t buy.”

Ubi concluded by teasing the relaunch of his music company, Made Men Music Group (MMMG) 2.0, set for early next year, promising to leverage two decades of industry experience.
