There has been an argument over the validity of the Degree Certificate and the NYSC Certificate issued to Godwin Obaseki the governor of Edo State which is likely to disqualify him from upcoming primaries in June 22 if not timely vindicated.
One of claim states that he was issued two certificates from the same University with different dates. However, the University of Ibadan where the Governor is believed to have graduated has opposed the motion that he was offered two certificates with different dates.
The Registrar of the University of Ibadan, Olubunmi Faluyi, on Sunday June 14 has reaffirmed that Governor Godwin Obaseki was admitted into the University in 1976 and graduated with a Second Class Honors, Lower Division in 1979. He said the records of the Governor with the University is still intact in the University’s archives.
Also, Olatunji Oladejo, the University’s Director of Public Communications has spoken in support of what the Registrar has affirmed and stated that the claim by the Party was false.
